Deleting your account and data

2026-08-31

This page explains how to delete your account and data in MENKO | Japanese Card Flip, the application provided by KAIMEIDO.

1. Delete from inside the app (the direct way)

Open the app and follow these steps.

  1. On the first screen, choose Settings
  2. Choose Account
  3. Press Delete account
  4. Press Delete on the confirmation

That starts the deletion. It completes inside the app — you do not need to contact us.

The app has no login. On first launch it creates an identifier on your device, and you can play straight away. Linking an account (Apple / Google) is optional.

You can remove the link to Apple / Google while keeping the account itself.

  1. On the first screen, choose Settings
  2. Choose Account
  3. Press Unlink

When you unlink, the Apple / Google identifier we hold is deleted. Your menko, points and tickets are kept.

3. If you cannot open the app

If you have lost the device or removed the app, please write to us.

Please include one of the following.

  • The player ID shown in the app
  • The app store transaction ID from a purchase

We may ask you to confirm your identity. If you never linked an account, we have no way to identify you, and we may be unable to act on the request.

4. What is deleted

Once deletion starts, the following is deleted.

  • Your player ID and authentication token
  • The linked Apple / Google identifier
  • The menko, points and tickets you hold
  • Your match records
  • The artwork generated for your custom menko

5. How long it takes

  • We keep the data for three months after deletion starts.
  • During those three months, linking the same account again restores everything.
  • After three months the data is deleted and cannot be restored.

If you want it erased sooner, please write to the address above.

6. What is kept

Notwithstanding the above, we keep the following for ten years, as required by law.

  • App store transaction ID, amount paid, date of payment, product name
  • An identifier converted into a form that does not directly identify you

That identifier is produced from your information by a one-way calculation, and you cannot be identified from it.

Information stored on the device itself (the names you gave your menko, volume and other settings) is lost when you remove the app from the device.
